ELECTRONIC VOICE PHENOMENA (EVP)
Electronic Voice Phenomena (EVP) is a pathway for non-sensitives to communicate with those who have left this world.
The more we experiment with and read about Electronic Voice Phenomena(EVP), the more we’re convinced this is the most creditable evidence of communication with ‘persons’ or ‘souls’ from outside our physical surroundings. EVP has been recorded since the invention of mechanical recording devices. Please don’t take this the wrong way but we feel it is virtually impossible for Mediums to prove who they are communicating with or who is present, if anything. To be honest, we’ve never meet a Medium who felt the need to prove themselves, as the belief in self and what they are experiencing is so real, and why should they have to prove themselves! It’s up to us all to find our own personal paths to get where we want. As with many other forms of paranormal ‘evidence’, EVP is very easy to create and to hear what we want to hear. Like right now, a woman in the opposite seat sounds like she is being attacked by a bag of crisps. Obviously she isn’t. Natural elements such as radio frequencies and even the voices of physical living beings, positioned outside the experiment area captured on audio recorders can also sound from another world. Constant observation of the environment is utmost important because when it comes to listen back later it is easy to forget the passing public during the vigil. | UKPS use a number of recording devices including Cassette Recorders, Digital Dictaphones and ELF microphone’s through laptop computers which feeds into Audition, a software package suggested by leading EVP researchers AA-EVP. Another piece of equipment is a small wireless radio, which is ideal for creating ‘white noise’. The reason for creating white noise is to offer the voices substance to alter in order to generate sounds or words. It doesn’t need to be the popular white noise effect as any background noise will do, as long as it creates a ‘wine party’ effect. A human voice is heard between 300 – 3,000 hertz, whereas Extremely Low Frequencies (ELF) can be heard at 1 – 300 hertz and ELF cannot be heard or created by living human. The simplest piece of advice UKPS can offer on editing is, DO NOT alter your recordings in any way as this will create what is known as False EVP. Reducing or increasing the speed and pitch will create a noise from a noise. If properly prepared at the onset, it should not be necessary to edit your recordings. Audition software provides researchers with the tools to allow enhancement of the recordings without actually altering the pitch or speed. |
EVP Classifications & Recordings
Potential EVP’s are best separated into one of three classifications, Class A, B and C.
Class A Voices can be heard and understood through speaker by most people. Remember ‘loud’ does not equal Class A. | Class B Voices can be heard through speakers, but not everyone will agree on what is being heard. We do not feel a definite Class A has been captured by us personally, so we offer you two possible EVP candidates for Class B. Keep Away - EVP from Private Investigation Coooool. Hey - EVP from Skipton Social Club (see report) | Class C Voices can only be heard through earphones and are difficult to understand. Here is an example of a Class C, you may not need your earphones, as it is partly audible. It Wasn't Me - EVP from Private Wigan Pub
